Here at Ebony Merino NZ we have always remained committed to making warm, quality clothing that is cruelty-free, sustainable, natural and lasts. Our Merino's are all made from 100% Merino (unlike some out there on the market which are blended with synthetics) . This gives you the best odor protection, and is the kindest for our environment.
Animal welfare is important to us and the merino wool used in our garments is traceable to the farm and muelsing-free. The farms our wool comes from implement ethical practices meaning the sheep graze free, and are treated with care. This also gives us the best merino wool fibres to create the highest quality garments.
Our merino fibres are extremely durable. Not only do our garments last season after season, they are also easy to care for. Our merino wool is prepared in the optimum way before being knitted, so our merinos are machine washable and resist pilling.
We select only the best quality fibres which means our Merino's are the softest. They can be worn directly next to the skin with no itch or irritation.
Here at Ebony Merino we love the environment in New Zealand and we are committed to keeping it clean and green. We now package all our garments and orders in all compostable packaging. Our Merino is also sustainable and renewable so we are not adding to the increasing problem of clothing waste.
Merino wool reacts to the moisture in the air around it, generating heat which is trapped in tiny air pockets formed by the fibres in the garment to keep you warm. In warm weather this process is reversed, wicking moisture away from your body. Merino Wool is also one of the least flammable fibres around. It is self-extinguishing
Nature at its best :)
We have various styles to cater to a range of preferences. From collars, turtle and crew necklines to long, straight or a-line styles our merinos are designed by real women for real women.

We like to support the local community in New Zealand. We are owned and operated here in Auckland, providing jobs in NZ and stimulating the NZ economy. Many of the other big, mega retail, merino brands are now owned by large overseas corporations. This means your money stays local, paying NZ taxes. This supports the NZ economy and social wellbeing of Kiwis.
Like to shop local? We also have our own boutique stores in Epsom (Auckland), Paeroa and Waihi Beach.
We produce our Merino's using safe and ethical dyeing processes. Our garments are certified to give you confidence in our quality and practices.
We also visit our factory regularly to ensure staff working conditions are of a high standard.
